Jenkins Boots are a must have for most players. This quest is easily done, but it doesn't hurt to have help for the Goblin Pirates part if you are a low level. I rushed through part 3 a bit, will redo the quest on another character to provide more details on the dialogue.

Tides of Fate Jenkins Boots

Jenkins Boots are a must have for most players. This quest is easily done, but it doesn't hurt to have help for the Goblin Pirates part if you are a low level. I rushed through part 3 a bit, will redo the quest on another character to provide more details on the dialogue. I've only went through this quest once, it's possible there is more than 1 road to victory with the new dialogue options.

  • Location: Roycroft
  • Reward: Jenkins Boots
  • Difficulty: Easy

  • Part 1: Travel to Roycroft and speak with Crocker. He is located in the basement of the guard house on the West side of town. He'll tell you a story about how he has been locked up for the recent mutilations of travelers. He's been making replacement legs for the injured until the Constable Huberts daughter was attacked and someone accused him. If you speak to him again he'll make a comment about it always being the left leg.
  • Part 2: You won't receive a quest update to do something but as the dialogue suggests it seems that Goblin Pirates are responsible for the attacks. Head outside of town through the North West entrance and there will be a spawn of goblins to the North. Kill Goblin Pirates until you receive a quest update. As you kill them you will receive a notice saying something about goblins being smelly, this is how you know you are working towards the quest. You will know you have finished when you receive a large block of green text in the chat window saying that you found a pair of boots with a man named Jenkins stamped on the right boot.
  • Part 3: Speak with Jenkins. He is located in the Armor Shop on the West side of town, just a couple buildings from the North West entrance. He will ask you to try on a pair of shoes. There is a series of dialogue options that is rather entertaining, he'll eventually tell you to go away if you choose the wrong dialogue. If you like the direct route tell him that you already have a shoe and that you have a problem. From there select the goblin dialogue option and proceed to accuse him of being in league with the goblins. He'll make a comment about taking it up with Constable Hubert. Receive 20k Experience. Speak to him again for a series of amusing insults
  • Part 4: The next step is to speak to Constable Hubert. He is located on the Southern side of town above the archway. There is another series of dialogue you must navigate through, if you choose the wrong course you will have to speak to him again. When you speak to him ask about Jenkins and the goblins strange behavior. He'll become agitated and wants to know what you want. Tell him that his daughter is beautiful, next choose the 'care about your job' option, after a few lines of dialogue you'll find out that he knows the Crocker is innocent. Eventually he'll tell you that you need to bring him proof of Jenkin's involvement.
  • Part 5: Here you will receive an actual quest update, you must return and speak with Jenkins again. Ask him if he has a matching shoe for the one you have. He will eventually tell you that he does not have a matching shoe due to the fact that the goblins stole his shipment, but only stole the left shoes in their haste. Interesting considering the right shoe you brought was pulled off a goblin hmmmm.
  • Part 6: Return and speak with Constable Hubert again. He will point out the fact that Jenkins said that only his left shoes were stolen yet you found a right shoe on a goblin. This is all the evidence that he needs to arrest Jenkins and maybe wack a few goblins too. He will ask you to speak to Crocker again on his behalf because he "feels bad". Either option will end the quest. Receive Jenkins Boots.
